I suppose they all have a touch of that but this one didn't have any of the cleverness or serious moments like the later ones. If only it was a better story that didn't come across like it was written by a 13 year old. You can play the game as reserved or as maniacal as you want and it doesn't clash with the story. He's a total non factor in the story and just goes along with whatever without ever saying anything. I liked the protagonist for 99% of the game. Or the vehicle sub missions and their seemingly arbitrary time limits where sometimes you get 30 seconds to make it across the map and sometimes a minute or more to get just over that patch of grass over there. Like Rampages (kill x amount of gangsters in a time limit) where the most challenging thing is trying to coax the game into spawning enough of the thing that you need to kill. The biggest source of difficulty a lot of the time is the jank. No world map (fixed by a mod), can't climb, can't swim, can't really fly anything without mods or luck. I didn't realise just how far behind it actually is to San Andreas. I played this a couple of times on a friend's computer way back in the day when I was a kid but this was the first time since. Honestly I have very mixed feelings about this one. This is definitely going to be a bit long.
